Not many people may know the name "Wu Shihao", but when I tell you that he is the Lanzhou guy who became famous as Cosplay on the "Lanma" track, I believe everyone will shout "Remember, remember …" It is estimated that many people will say, "That’s the guy who wears’ fancy clothes’ for horse racing."
In 2011, when the first marathon in Lanzhou started at Dongfanghong Square, Wu Shihao, who had just stepped into the university gate, didn’t care too much. In his personal words, "I didn’t know what a marathon was at that time."
With the success of two consecutive "Lanma", the influence of "Lanma" has become increasingly prominent. In 2013, Wu Shihao decided to sign up for "Lanma" with a try.
At 8: 00 am on June 15th, 2013, 43,600 people from 26 countries and regions rushed out of Dongfanghong Square and galloped around the Yellow River. Wu Shihao, who participated as a runner for the first time, successfully finished the race with the cheers of enthusiastic citizens on both sides of the track. At that moment, Wu Shihao had an unprecedented power in his heart. He decided: I like this sport!
After many years, recalling his first marathon and the first "Lanma", Wu Shihao told reporters frankly: "I didn’t know much about marathons at that time. After successfully finishing the race, I found that the marathon was not as difficult as I thought. "
Regrettably, with the soaring influence of "Lanma" at home and abroad, in 2014, Wu Shihao regretted the opportunity to hold hands with "Lanma" for the second time in the registration lottery.
In the following years, Wu Shihao was thinking about how to make his running more interesting while running on the "Lanma" track.
On the morning of June 10, 2018, 40,000 runners marched bravely on the 8 th "Lanma" track. Among them, a runner holding a pan, wearing a white shirt and a third-class head appeared in people’s sight, which suddenly attracted countless attention. People uniformly focused their eyes on this "weird" dressed player, and Wu Shihao was so angry. At this time, he is no longer just a "Lanma" runner, but also a unique and interesting scenery on this "Lanma" track.
On June 11th, 2023, Lanzhou Marathon will start shooting at the mother’s river as scheduled. Wu Shihao, who has passed his thirties, will also welcome his eighth "Lanma".
Wu Shihao praised this event at home. He said that he has participated in so many sessions of "Lanma" and he has witnessed the step-by-step development of "Lanma". As a "double gold" event, "Lanma" has given itself a very good experience from the choice of track and the service of the event, especially the interaction of the audience is very high. "Whenever I can’t run, people on both sides of the track will cheer me up. It is the enthusiastic Lanzhou people who give me motivation and let me move on."
Wu Shihao said that he is still considering whether the upcoming 2023 "Lanma" will participate in the competition as Cosplay.
